I started Elffinarts as a private artistic project in 1993 whilst sword training with professional medieval re-enactor group Lion Rampant in Brisbane. This came after years of formal artistic training through various private art schools and through scholorships won through the Queensland Art Gallery as a child. Coming from a family of very active artists I found my art stood out from my siblings in that mine was the only art that embraced realism rather than abstract form. This eventually found me reaching for a camera in my frustration at the slow pace of etching or of digital airbrushing. I now primarily do most of my work through the lens and then can take my time with traditional artistic endeavours.
