Hi Sarah! Yes, after a lot of tweaking - an uninstall, a re-install with updated code - a fair dose of face-planting the desk in frustration, the scroll bars are back! But, for now I have lost the lovely animated slideshow from the front of the site. There's really good reason I am a photographer and not a web developer. I'm currently triple checking the design for the decal for the car's back windscreen - debating the value of adding a QR Code so people with smart phones can save my info with ease. I've been seeing the QR Codes being rolled out in general advertising a great deal now so I think I will implement it. (just not too large)
I hope the recent storms haven't been giving you both too much of a battering our there!

Chris, I doubt she'll have ANY hassles with her Eizo, they're very nice monitors. I just can't justify the expense when Dell can now so nearly match the specifications but vastly outdo them on price.

There's a serious lack of industry education on IP ownership and it drives me bonkers. On occasion it also yields surprising good results. It can be fun to invoice major media companies for breach of copyright and educate them via their wallets.

I completely agree Mark. I'm pretty shocked by how every niche of the creative industries undervalues, or attempts to undercut each other. I see this when designers undercut the value of photography and complain about photographers holding IP on a collection of photographs. Without ever once realizing they too hold IP on any work commissioned by a client. One such case was a designer/art director who was getting married, and could not understand why a photographer held onto IP. He felt that since it was his wedding, he owned them.

As for amateurs calling themselves professional. This is one of the reasons I stay away from these trappings. It misrepresents and undervalues the very industry I hope to eventually work in.

People need to understand that being amateur lasts a good 5-10 years. Or until you hit your deserving 10,000 hours.

It's a total no brainer. No client should take the risk of hiring the cheapest least experienced photographer based on price alone. Whereas an amateur may have the occasional lucky shot or two that look good, that is simply not enough for an advertising campaign, corportate shoot, fashion editorial coverage or especially the no second chances situation of wedding photography.

It is very upsetting when there are ammatuer photographers that advertise as "professionals" I think a photographer working as an ammatuer should advertise and state that they are learning and not professionals.
I understand people can't always afford the professionals and that is where the ammatuers can be really useful. We all need to start somewhere.
The worst is when you get someone who uses the internal flash and auto mode on a DSLR that call themselves professionals... I mean seriously. If you have a passion for it learn, don't just 'fake it'.
I do know some amazing ammatuer photographers that are learning well and I can definatley see them as professionals some day. You are by far my favourite professional photographer Mark :)
